LASER SYSTEMS, INC. AWARDED U.S. PATENT FOR INNOVATIVE VERSALASER™
DESIGN
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – (April 20, 2006) Universal Laser Systems,
Inc. (ULS), manufacturer of CO2 lasers and laser systems,
announced today that it has been awarded U.S. Design Patent
No. D517,474 for its VersaLaser laser cutting and engraving
system. The patent was awarded for the unique industrial design
aesthetic of VersaLaser’s external cabinet, which also serves
as a Class 1 laser safety enclosure. U.S. Design Patents are
awarded for new and original manufacturing designs that reflect
aesthetic skill and artistic conception.
VersaLaser is a desktop-sized computer-controlled PC peripheral
that employs a CO2 laser for cutting, engraving, and marking
operations. VersaLaser can process a wide variety of materials
including wood, paper, plastic, metal, leather, fabric, marble,
rubber, glass, ceramic and stone. VersaLaser functions like
a desktop printer from Windows® based graphic software and
was a finalist in PC Magazine’s prestigious Award for Technical
